Getting to Gruyeres by car:
Driving to Gruyères is very easy as the town is very close to the Bulle turnoff (exit 4) of the highway A12 that connects Lake Geneva (near Vevey and Montreux) with Bern and Zürich. A recently opened bypass allows easy and fast driving around rather than through Bulle. Cars are not allowed inside the old town but parkings are available at the bottom of the hill. You must pay for parking.
Getting to Gruyeres by train:
From Zurich main station: To Fribourg, change for Bulle where you catch the regio express towards Montbovon and Gruyeres.
From Geneva: To Montreux, change for hourly train Montbovon. There, a short ride on the regio express train to Gruyeres.
